In Walt Disney’s “tale as old as time,” young Belle learns that beauty and love are more than skin-deep.  This Howard Ashman, Alan Menken and Tim Rice musical features the wonderful songs from the movie and more.  Hits include the title song, “Be Our Guest,” “Is This Home?” and “Gaston.”  Don’t miss this beautiful show that kicks off the start of our first all-Broadway season ever!

Director John Blair has assembled a terrific production team and cast for this exciting show.  In addition to directing, Blair is also music directing.  Choreography is by Jana Lugar, who just finished the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular Midwest Tour. Lugar has been directed and choreographed by Tony award-winning choreographer Tommy Tune, and has also performed tours on cruise ships.

In the role of Belle is North Montgomery High School senior Lacey Kriston, a veteran of many leading roles at Myers Dinner Theatre, most recently as Eliza Doolittle in “My Fair Lady.”  MDT favorite Michael Moyer will portray the Beast, in addition to being the lighting designer for the show.  He last played Emile de Becque in "South Pacific" and Henry Higgins in “My Fair Lady.”

Two other North Montgomery seniors in the show with leading MDT roles to their credit are Keith James as the arrogant Gaston and Brian W. Swick as the “tightly-wound” clock, Cogsworth.

Linnea Leatherman, a long-standing favorite at MDT, will portray the teapot, Mrs. Potts, with Kara Oates joining her as Chip.  Oates just finished playing Marta in “The Sound of Music” at Beef & Boards in Indianapolis.

Reed Hepburn, a Wabash College student, makes his MDT debut as Lumiere, the charismatic candelabra, and Jennifer Peacock will portray feather duster Babette.  Mary Taylor, another North Montgomery student, will play the wardrobe Madame de la Grande Bouche.  Jason Newkirk will portray Gaston’s hapless sidekick, LeFou.  Newkirk is a veteran of many shows at Walt Disney World.

Portraying everything from townspeople to trees to wolves are:  Natascha Yvonne, Jenni House, Megan Cornelius, who is also a member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir; Nick Caine, direct from performing at Dollywood; and Ryan Galloway, another North Montgomery High School student.  Appearing as villagers are Nina Myers, Mike Green and Shelby Green.  Mike Green will also be the narrator.  Director Blair will play Belle’s father, Maurice.  Blair will also provide live accompaniment for the show.
